A couple of weeks ago the kids and I spent the evening by the seaside with a group of friends, while Matt was freezing his butt off working in Japan. It was a wonderfully relaxing and refreshing place to be, and I’ve been back every night since. In my head anyway.
I love where we live at the moment, out in the country, surrounded by the ever-Australian scent of eucalypt, and the constant rustling of leaves, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. But I do love being beside the seaside, the wind in my face, the sea salt on my lips, and even the sand between my toes (and other places). And I love that we’re close enough to the beach to make the trip whenever we feel like it, but far enough that it’s still a treat. It still makes for an exciting day out for the kids, and a darned good excuse for me to get my camera out. Not that I really need one.
