You'll find all sorts of bits and pieces here. If you're a client this is where you'll find your sneak peek. If you're considering me as your custom photographer this is also where you'll find examples of my work), along with pricing and session information, (by clicking on the WEBSITE link at the top of the page, as well as learning a bit about me, my personality, and my style. If you're friends or family just keeping tabs on me, this is where you'll find the stuff that goes on in my life that I forget to tell you about.
You'll probably see my children and husband feature quite regularly, as they have the most influence on me. You'll also see snapshots of my life in and around Melbourne (and where ever else it takes me) as well as links, videos, pictures or discussions on whatever has my interest or attention at the time of posting.
So thank you for dropping by. I hope you enjoy it here and pop back regularly to see what I'm up to.
A few posts back I shared some photographs from Jacob’s christening. The final gallery of images I sent through to mum and dad was HUGE – in fact they’re probably still sitting there going through them as I type. And I hope they’re smiling, just as I do each time I look through them. It was such a great day, full of love and festivities.
The’ve no doubt got a lot of friends and families that would like to view the images also, but wouldn’t necessarily want to go through each and every one of them, so I’ve put together an abridged version for them, and for anyone else that may like to watch the slideshow and take part themselves in the joy. I’m posting the slideshow below. Simply click play and wait for it to load. Then enjoy.
Thanks again, Snez and Tony. It really was a wonderful day, and a memorable experience.
A few weeks ago I shared a peek from Melina and Andrew’s session. I totally enjoyed wandering around Southbank that morning, chatting as we went and stopping for a photograph or two as we felt inspired. They were such great fun. I have the best job in the world, I swear!
I was watching each image pop up in my viewfinder as I took it, and could hardly wait to get home and see them on the ‘big screen’. I knew I was going to love looking through this session, and I was right. I still enjoy looking through their photographs – they’re such a fun, happy couple. And I hear Melina’s contagious laugh every time I look at them.
I was hopeful that Andrew and Melina would let me share their time in front of my camera, and they didn’t let me down (thank you so much guys!!), so I’ve put another slideshow together (I am seriously loving these things…I’m addicted…somebody help me…) and, again, all you have to do is press play, a perhaps wait a minute or two for it to load, and you can see what a gorgeous, fun loving, up for anything couple these two are. Who knows, maybe I’ll get to shoot their wedding somewhere down the track. Oh, that would be a blast.
…well, that’s what they say. But I have to disagree.
Obviously I work with children a lot, and occasionally animals get thrown into the mix as well. And I enjoy every minute of it. I think it’s great when pets are incorporated into a session. Often cats and, more commonly, dogs are the first ‘child’ in a family. It’s nature’s way of preparing us for something that, let’s face it, we can never actually be prepared for. So they’re often an integral part of the family and, rightfully so, deserve their place on the wall alongside their Mum and Dad, and their brothers and sisters.
I recently did a session where their two dogs were as much a part of it as the rest of the family. The great thing about dogs is they can’t say ‘cheese’. Only thing is they won’t do much else on command either. But these two were perfectly well behaved. Though I’m not sure they’d say I was their favourite photographer if you pressed them. I did get a growl or two. But I think there may have been some smiles in there somewhere as well.
And this session has actually turned out to be one of my favourites. There are lots of little ‘moments’ in there that I absolutely adore. And I believe this is what my style is all about. For me it’s all about capturing those points in time that will matter 10, 20, 30 years down the track.
So I begged mum and dad for permission to share their gallery on here (actually, I just had to ask nicely – they were very happy to share), and I’ve compiled it into a little slideshow for you all. If you have a few spare minutes to watch, simply press the play button below.
I really enjoyed putting this together. And I’ve sat and watched it over and over. In fact, I love them so much I’m thinking of putting one together for each of my clients from now on so they can send the link to all their friends and family, or embed it on facebook if that’s their fancy. What a great way to share the love.
