She doesn’t just go through life. She runs. And takes those around her along for the ride.
She doesn’t walk. She tiptoes. She skips. She twirls.
She doesn’t just talk. She sings. She laughs. She gestures. She communicates.
She doesn’t breathe. She inhales. Absorbs. Exhales.
She doesn’t just love. She adores. She consumes.
And when the puddles appear on her path, she doesn’t let them get in her way.
They don’t keep her from her destination.
She doesn’t side-step or curse them.
She turns them into opportunities.
She runs head first into them. And laughs.
She lives life, and she enjoys life.
And I want to be just like her when I grow up.

Well, this is this year’s attempt at a christmas photo. Not that I was intending to take it, but when Jaedon grabbed the santa hat out, by himself, I thought it would be a great opportunity. Nope. I didn’t get any photos of the hat just sitting nicely on his head and Jaedon looking all cherubic, lol. He insisted on pulling it down over his face, as far as it would go. Oh well – it still made for some fun shots, and it reflects more on who he is anyway. Love him to bits!
And I know I not long ago did a photo of Alicia-Rae and piglet, but I guess I’m still excited that she’s made a friend out of him.
And she just looks so sweet and gentle in this picture. I love her little eyelashes, and the lovely soft light above her shoulder…and on and on and on….

Every morning when daddy goes to work Jaedon kisses him bye-bye then runs to the lounge-room window. He waits there until daddy comes over and gives him another kiss (through the glass), then waves and bids him bye-bye again. Then he does the mad dash to our bedroom, at the front of the house, hopefully to get there before daddy. There he waits for the last stage of his farewell ritual, where he gets yet another kiss and more waves. And if he hangs around long enough, which he always does, daddy pauses as he backs out of the drive, blows another kiss and sends one final wave. And Jaedon always stands there until daddy is long gone from view and there’s no possibility of a return for one final bye-bye.
It’s a sweet, sweet thing to watch. He certainly loves his daddy. I don’t blame him.
After daddy has long gone from view, we all hop on mummy and daddy’s bed and have a good ole jumping session. It’s always a good laugh.
Usually I’m the first one to tire of it, then Jaedon will get distracted by the next best thing, and it will end up being Alicia-Rae having full run of the bed by herself. And she makes good use of it. At the end she’ll simply lay in amongst the doona and watch me. And smile – usually full of mischief before she pounces on me and begs me to start over. But that few seconds of simply laying there watching one another is amongst the best few seconds of the day.
